About
My Story
I became a Defence Partner more than a decade ago and since found Defence life challenging, not quite as supported or organised as I’d like, and reliant completely on my spouse ingenuity.
Today, I’m passionate about making this journey easier and clearer for other partners and families.
As a natural born organiser, committed to processes and list ticking, I’m reducing the overwhelm and uncertainty one checklist, guide or resource at a time.
Turns out I’m more than a little resistant to just going with the flow and figuring it out as we go!
If that sounds like you too, you’re not going to want to miss these!

Mission and Vision
The Home Post concept took shape when this partner was at their most exhausted, tousled-haired, overwhelmed, self, who recognised that the readiness resources I’d needed for years didn’t exist.
As I delved deeper into the essence of THP, dissected its components, and aligned it with our personal journey, my idea transformed into a platform where we share not only our introduction to, experiences within, and transition from the ADF (Australian Defence Force).
Today, the primary purpose is to serve as a valuable resource hub for every Defence and Veteran Partner, family, carer and even the service member themselves.
Information & Education
Over time, the glaring gaps in provided knowledge have become evident, paralleled by the intricate web of circumstances and policies that lead to uncertainty, frustration, complexity, and even adversity.
In response, THP has taken on a pivotal role in ending the navigation through these challenges in the dark. We’re committed to providing a comprehensive platform to accompany you through the full spectrum of military and Veteran family life with a wealth of crucial information and education.
Capacity
& Resources
No longer confined to mere survival, our mission is to equip you with the essential and practical resources and tools tailored to empower, strengthen, and cultivate capacity. Picture a journey where ease and strength become your companions, and where wellbeing takes centre stage.
Our resources are digital and downloadable!
Advocacy
& Community
Together, we amplify your voices, raise awareness, and work diligently to advocate for the unique needs of Defence and Veteran Partners, Carers and families. Through advocacy and strategic endeavors, we’re on a mission to drive transformative policy changes and elevate support systems that truly centre around and nurture wellbeing.
Community
We recognized a gap that extended beyond the challenges of a military life —it was a gap in community, programs, and outreach for those experiencing medical downgrade, discharge and living with injuries, mental health conditions and pain. This realization inspired us to build a haven exclusively for Defence and Veteran Partners and Carers, where bonds that transcend the challenges faced are built, advice is shared, enriching events are attended, and support runs deep. The Defence and Veteran Partner and Carer Support Group on Facebook can be joined here.
